Who Was The First Person In The World
Who was the first person in space? People have dreamt of travelling in space for thousands of years, but it didn't become a reality until about 40 years ago. On i think 12 April, 1961, the Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin blasted off into orbit in his Vostok 1 spacecraft. He circled the Earth once at an altitude of 320 km (200 miles). "The Earth is blue," he said in awe. LOL.

One reason that's a nearly foolproof method for preventing the files

Given that we can never know the answer, and that an acceptance of this frustrates me, I have found myself increasingly drawn to organised relig

So what i'm asking is what is the next step and what will its ethical implica

It's amazing to me how mankind continues to move forward by leaps and bounds in areas such as technology, but when it comes to such a small thing as learning to broaden our tolerance for differences in the way an individual chooses to worship, so many seem to be stuck. It takes so little research to understand that primal aim of most a

The idea of co-generation is simple: get everything you can out of every watt of power and every ounce of a resource by letting side-effects work for you, not against you. As an example, a electric plant can use waste

his idea would be to create a completely hands free cell phone.. The phone will be used and worn just like the new curretn ear pieces.. The design will be very similar but will design sleek looking models.. This phone would need to be completely hands free, with that said.. there would be no keypad of any sort.. there would also be no display screen.. these would have to be sometype of smart phone.. Everything would be voice activated Even to programs your numbers you would say something lik

First off, I'm not a conspiracy-addict. I'd liek to think of myself as a healthy young man, with a healthy, sane mind. I try not to corrupt myself with wild ideas that everything has to be blamed one someone else. I try not to be afraid of the uknown, etc... But I can't help being interested in the idea of a hidden government. International, not necessarily exclusively American. I've asked the opinion of a USAF-member, with several years of experience, and he found the idea just

One night after seeing a movie were a vacuum occurs in space i had a thought, if you use a water wheel with a tank of gas would you be able to spin the wheel thus giving power to the tool. and if so how strong would the vacuum be? Powerful enough to spin a chainsaw? Strong enough to give electricity to a ship? This could be used to the advantage of space travel. Does anyone think it is feasible?

I had an idea today. What if they made a small ‘golf computer’ like a PDA that can be used to help with your course management, club selection etc. It can have a touch screen and can be preloaded with information about the course you are going to play. It could produce all sorts of information about the course including details about each hole, various slopes for the hole as well as the green and possibly a map of each hole. The amount of data that could be stored is huge and golfers will love i

Ever since I was in grade school I always tapped my pencils and pens. My senior year in high school I finally bought a drum kit. Even now though...I still tap my desk, my steering wheel, even my thighs when I'm standing. So I was in the car the other day and I thought it would be awesome if I could make my steering wheel play different sounds depending on where I hit it. Ok, so maybe it might be a little distracting. But it wouldn't be that hard to make little mini tap drums. You k

Grow Your Capitals! With More Safety
Most posble Money growing comes from investing money, but here is factor like loss. When it comes to making investments, most people know that there is always room for a possible loss. Stock market investments in particular are rather notorious for taking a rather well funded portfolio and emptying it rather quickly. Of course, that does not happen all the time, otherwise no one would do it. If, on the other hand, you do not want to take what many consider to be an unnecessary risk, there are a

The 14% Solution is an idea from Frederik Pohl. I think the name is a Sherlock Holmes reference. The basic idea is that taxpayers can opt to pay extra taxes in exchange for more control over the budget. A taxpayer can opt to pay from 1-7% extra federal tax in exchange for a line-item veto on where a percentage of their taxes go. For each 1% extra they pay, they can control 2% of their money, to a maximum of 14%. So, for instance, you could pay 2 1/2% extra and say that 5% of your taxes must go

Recently my ipod had died, too many drops made the hardddrive have difficulty reding the boot files, so it didnt work.... SO a few weeks later i whipped it apart and took a look at the HD.. and the most random thought came to freeze it... now i have a good idea of why this would work, but will explain later for im really tired. But what i did, was put it in the freezer for about 20mins.. then i took canned keyboard duster, turned it upside down and laid down a few freezes on it while it was stil

Well yeah ive been messing around with the concept and have been imagining my hund quarters off and yeah heres a few things - With the ever growing intensity of computer performance, theres been a necessity to cool all of those hot parts. For ages wev'e resorted to metal thats almost completely separate from the chip itself. For one, using metal to cool computer parts is far from the most efficient method. Cooling utilizing liquid instead of air to cool the element is far more efficient, a

I am sure you have all heard of the double zero degrees question. Well, I have an answer. We are going to be using Celsius and Kelvin to figure this out. 1) Convert 0 C to K: 0 + 273.15 = 273.15 2) From 273.15 which is equal to 0 C we double it with a result of 546.3 K, this is twice as much as zero degrees. 3) Convert it back in celsisus: 546.3 - 273.15 = 273.15 C Therefore twice as much as 0 C is 273.15 C, interesting isn't it?

I am currently studying in preliminary college, and we have “Complex Numbers” as a part of our syllabus. Its definition can be made as- Z = a + i b (Where a,b are real numbers and i = √-1 ) Now, we have i = √-1 and hence i becomes an imaginary number. But we have figured out a way to expand our imagination, and relate it to reality! Here goes, just some mathematical operations playing with the unity and, i =

The power of computing has been utilized in the music industry for quite a while now... beginning with the mandatory Cubase installation in every self-respecting studio, and going up to music that is created solely by a CPU. Music helps us express ourselves, and machines help us create music. The prices of various types of DSPs (digital signal processors) for guitarists have been sky-high since the dawning of effects. They will also continue to be expensive because the technology that enables t

Well, I've worked out a solution! At the time of construction, a vertical hollow column be inserted such that it passes through each of the kitchens in the building. There may be multiple such columns so that all kitchens are covered in a vertical column. Then, each kitchen would bear an

Representing Fractions With Continued Fractions
The decimal method of representing fractions has its peculiarities such as .99999... = 1 and the need for infinite repeating threes to represent a third. Then there are the irrational numbers who are represented by an infinite sequence of digits with no pattern. I have been exploring the possibility of using continued fractions to represent fractions instead. The advantages include the fact that all rational numbers are represented by a finite sequence and that square roots are represented by

Something To Ponder Upon... ;) 0.9 = 1
ok, i'm new here, so i thought i'd show you something neat but first of all, my notation - when I mean a number is recurring (going on forever, the recurring part will be in bold. (for example - 0.9 means 0.9999999... 0.42 means 0.4242424242... and 0.4567 means 0.4567567567...) if you wish to express a number as a fraction, you can use this simple trick: 0.43 as a fraction: first call the number I so I = 0.43 therefo

Viewing electricity as software to make hardware work we can delve into the world of toying with that software and then developing the hardware to house its function. Electricity is where it all begins.
